The best Ecuador cultural tours always include a visit to one or two of the many weekly indigenous markets in Ecuador. There are two types of Indian market in Ecuador. Firstly there are the popular and well-visited handicraft markets which offer the visitor a colourful selection of the various ‘artesanias’ produced across Ecuador. The most famous handicraft market in Ecuador is that which is held daily in the northern town of Otavalo.
